چکیده

A problem in three-dimensional imaging by a confocal scanning laser microscope (CSLM) in the (epi))uorescence mode is the darkening of the deeper layers due to absorption and scattering of both the excitation and the uorescence light. In this paper we propose a new method to correct for these eeects. Our approach, valid for weak attenuation, consists in multiplying the measured uorescent intensity by a correction factor involving a convolution integral of the measured signal, which can be computed eeciently by the Fast Fourier Transform. We give analytical and numerical estimates as to the degree of attenuation under which our method is valid, and apply the method to various test images. We also show a restoration of a real CSLM image. Finally the method is compared with a recent iterative method with regard to numerical accuracy and computational eeciency.

Improving the RX Anomaly Detection Algorithm for Hyperspectral Images using FFT

Anomaly Detection (AD) has recently become an important application of target detection in hyperspectral images. The Reed-Xialoi (RX) is the most widely used AD algorithm that suffers from “small sample size” problem. The best solution for this problem is to use Dimensionality Reduction (DR) techniques as a pre-processing step for RX detector. Using this method not only improves the detection p...

Fusion of Panchromatic and Multispectral Images Using Non Subsampled Contourlet Transform and FFT Based Spectral Histogram (RESEARCH NOTE)

Image fusion is a method for obtaining a highly informative image by merging the relative information of an object obtained from two or more image sources of the same scene. The satellite cameras give a single band panchromatic (PAN) image with high spatial information and multispectral (MS) image with more spectral information. The problem exists today is either PAN or MS image is available fr...

Nonlinear and Non-stationary Vibration Analysis for Mechanical Fault Detection by Using EMD-FFT Method

The Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) is a powerful method for nonlinear and non-stationary vibrations analysis. This approach consists of two basic parts of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and Hilbert spectral analysis (HSA). To achieve the reliable results, Bedrosian and Nuttall theorems should be satisfied. Otherwise, the phase and amplitude functions are mixed together and consequently, the ...

Validation of computed tomography-based attenuation correction of deviation between theoretical and actual values for four computed tomography scanners

Objective: In this study, we aimed to validate the accuracy of computed tomography-based attenuation correction (CTAC) using the bilinear scaling method. Methods: The measured attenuation coefficient (μm) was compared to a theoretical attenuation coefficient (μt ) using four different CT scanners and an RMI 467 phantom. The effective energy of the CT beam X-rays was calculated, using the aluminu...

Application of FFT Cyclic Voltammetry for Monitoring Removal of Mercury Ions from Aqueous Environment using New Adsorbent based Modified Mesoporous Silica (SBA–15)

As the electrochemical method, the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Stripping Cyclic Voltammetry detection method was designed for measurement and monitoring of adsorbed mercury ions by new modified adsorbent based on mesoporous silica as a new adsorbent. In this respect, SBA-15 as mesoporous silica and 1, 3, 5 Trithiane as effective modifier ligand were chosen, and the modification process was car...

Comparing 511 keV Attenuation Maps Obtained from Different Energy Mapping Methods for CT Based Attenuation Correction of PET Data

Introduction:  The  advent  of  dual-modality  PET/CT  scanners  has  revolutionized  clinical  oncology  by  improving lesion localization and facilitating treatment planning for radiotherapy. In addition, the use of  CT images for CT-based attenuation correction (CTAC) decreases the overall scanning time and creates  a noise-free  attenuation  map  (6map).  CTAC  methods  include  scaling,  s...
